Florida Tech to Launch New F.W. Olin Physical Sciences Building Jan. 22

– Florida Institute of Technology and the F.W. Olin Foundation of Sarasota, Fla. will celebrate the launch of the university’s new F.W. Olin Physical
Sciences Building in a ceremony on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 11:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The launch will begin the construction phase of the new $14 million structure. The building will house Florida Tech’s chemistry, and physics and space
sciences departments. To be located in the center of campus, the building’s neo-classical architecture will complement the F.W. Olin Engineering Complex
and the F.W. Olin Life Sciences Building. A domed telescope will highlight the roofline.

Florida Tech President Anthony James Catanese, F.W. Olin Foundation President Lawrence W. Milas, John T. Hartley, chairman of the Florida Tech board of
trustees, and Dr. Gordon Nelson, dean of the College of Science and Liberal Arts, are among the scheduled speakers.
