Florida Tech to Offer Only Forensic Psychology Undergraduate Degree Program in State

– The route to a career in crime analysis is now available from Florida Institute of Technology through the university’s new Forensic Psychology bachelor’s
degree program. When the program starts in fall 2003, Florida Tech will be among only a few universities in the country to offer this major at an
undergraduate level and the only one in the state of Florida to do so.

The forensic psychology program is designed for students who want to learn how psychological theory and research can be used in the criminal justice system
and related fields. Crime analysts, for example, maintain databases and obtain and compile data for crime analysis reports. They serve as part of the
management team within police departments to increase the effectiveness of patrol deployment, criminal investigations, special operations and tactical unit
activities.

Applications are being accepted now from new freshmen who wish to enter the program in fall 2003. Applications may be entered online at:
