Florida Tech Student Earns Microsoft Full-Year Scholarship

– Dwayne Codrington, a Florida Tech junior majoring in computer sciences from Barbados, has earned a full-year tuition scholarship for the 2003-2004
academic year from Microsoft Corporation. He is also eligible for a summer internship with Microsoft at its Redmond, Wash. headquarters.

The award is under the Microsoft Under-represented Minority Technical Scholarship program. The scholarship is designed to encourage those students from
groups currently underrepresented in the field of computer science to pursue technical degrees.

“My career goal is to secure a good job in the software development/ software testing field and my long-term goal is to be able to leave the field knowing
I have proved my worth,” said Codrington.

Florida Tech offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in computer science, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in information systems and bachelor’s
degrees in software development.
