Teens to Explore Florida Tech and Careers at Nov. 3 LASER Day
MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology’s 19th Annual LASER (Liberal Arts, Science and Engineering Resource) Day will be held on campus Wednesday, Nov. 3, from 2:15 to 8:15 p.m. The free event is designed for 10th, 11th and 12th graders, their parents, teachers and guidance counselors. A collaboration of the Florida Tech College of Science, College of Engineering and College of Psychology and Liberal Arts, the event is hosted by Hamid Rassoul, senior associate dean of the College of Science.
Students may choose to attend up to three topical discussions in consecutive, activity-filled sessions. The 24-topic list includes:

LASER Day check-in begins at 2:15 p.m. with a welcome orientation in the Gleason Performing Arts Center. A special session just for parents, Financial Aid 101, takes place from 4 to 5 p.m. The event ends with dinner (optional) and concluding remarks, starting at 6:20 p.m. in the Denius Student Center’s Hartley Room.
Students who visit the campus that day will receive a $1,000 Campus Visit Travel Grant for each of their four years (a total of $4,000) if they enroll full-time at Florida Tech. In addition, the first 200 students to arrive will receive a LASER Day T-shirt.
