F.I.T. Aviation Launches Summer Flight Camp in Two Sessions for 7th to 12th Graders; Registration Ends May 2

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology’s College of Aeronautics presents a week-long Summer Flight Camp at F.I.T. Aviation for 7th to 12th graders in two sessions. For grades 7-9 the dates are June 6-10; for grades 10-12 the dates are June 20-24.

The camp is designed to give young people a unique opportunity to explore the vast and exciting world of aviation. Students will take the controls and fly a plane, fly a simulator, visit air traffic controllers, meet an aircraft rescue and firefighting team and talk to former fighter pilot and astronaut Winston Scott, dean of the Florida Tech College of Aeronautics. They will build model airplanes and learn about flight plans, preflight checks and more. Guest speakers will also share special topics in the field of aviation.

The camp cost of $495 includes all activities and a daily buffet lunch. The registration deadline is May 2. To reserve a seat, a nonrefundable $50 deposit must be received by May 2 at F.I.T.
