Professor Becomes Leading Computing Association Distinguished Lecturer

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Scott Tilley, Florida Institute of Technology professor of software engineering, was recently named an ACM Distinguished Lecturer. The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world’s largest scientific computing society. Its Distinguished Speaker Program (DSP) provides organizations with top technology leaders from the computing industry to speak about the most pressing topics in computing and information technology.

Tilley’s first set of ACM DSP talks will be part of a Portugal speaking tour in July. He will give a keynote address titled, “Writing About Technology,” at the University Institute of Lisbon, as part of the International Conference on Information Systems and Design of Communication. He will also give the same talk at an invited presentation at the Politechnic of Coimbra.

Tilley is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Sciences, a professor of information systems in Florida Tech’s Nathan M. Bisk College of Business and an associate member of the Harris Institute for Assured Information. He is also a visiting scientist at Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute.

Tilley writes Florida Today‘s Technology Today weekly column. His recent books include Software Testing in the Cloud: Migration & Execution (Springer, 2012) and Software Testing in the Cloud: Perspectives on an Emerging Discipline (IGI Global, 2012).
