Jazz and More for First Friday Concerts at Foosaner Art Museum

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology’s Foosaner Art Museum has announced the fall schedule for its First Friday music series held in conjunction with the Eau Gallie Arts District’s First Friday Art Walk.

The free concerts are from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Foosaner’s galleries, 1463 Highland Ave.

  • Oct. 3 is the Ron Pirtle Quartet. This local jazz favorite is led by bass player Ron Pirtle and also includes Paul Polanski on saxophone, Ryan Wasserman on guitar and Jon Wasserman behind the drums.
  • Nov. 7 is Honey Miller. This band defies categorization with its sophisticated sound wrapped in water-bound imagery. Dave Miller, vocals and guitar; Anna Lusk, vocals; Thomas Vandyke, drums; Chris Jeffries, bass; Ken Holt, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, vocals.
  • Dec. 5 is Hafer House Holiday Jazz. The Hafer family returns for a holiday-inspired evening of seasonal jazz classics.

The Foosaner Art Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (the museum stays open until 7 p.m. Thursday); and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for seniors, children and students with I.D. Museum members and Florida Tech faculty, staff and students are free with I.D. Thursdays offer free admission all day.
