Las Vegas Sensation Clint Holmes to Join Christian Tamburr for Final 2014 Concert

Show Begins at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at Gleason Center on Campus

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Joined by special guest vocalist Clint Holmes, Florida Institute of Technology’s 2014 Artist in Residence Christian Tamburr will hold his final university concert of the year at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Gleason Performing Arts Center.

From Café Carlyle in New York City to the showrooms of Las Vegas, Holmes has dazzled audiences for more than three decades as he performs selections from the Great American songbook, standards from Sinatra’s legendary repertoire, contemporary classics or stirring original music.

He is currently the Artist-in-Residence at Cabaret Jazz at the newly opened Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas.

Tamburr is no stranger to the City of Lights: For the past year, he has held the musical directorship at Vegas Nocturne in the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. The internationally known vibraphonist and pianist was named Florida Tech’s Music Artist in Residence in January.

In addition to performing, Tamburr’s residency has included teaching master classes and workshops with music students at Florida Tech and conducting local outreach at public schools throughout Brevard County. Residency sponsors are Jean T. Burgdorff, Barbara K. Keller, Florida Tech president and CEO Anthony Catanese and Sara Catanese, and Cliff and Sarah Bragdon.

Tickets to the Nov. 18 concert are $15 for adults, $10 for Florida Tech faculty and staff and $5 for seniors and students. A limited number of free tickets for Florida Tech students will be available through advance reservations.

Tickets may be purchased or reserved by visiting http://cpla.fit.edu/sac/music/ or calling (321) 674-8082.

Tamburr’s latest CD, Voyage, which was recorded at the university’s WFIT studios, will be available for purchase at the concert for $15.

Revenue from ticket and CD sales supports the Florida Tech Music Program.
