Florida Tech Jazz Syndicate Performs March 6 at Foosaner

Capt. Winston Scott Leads Band at Jazz Friday Event at Museum

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology’s Foosaner Art Museum presents the university’s Jazz Syndicate band from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, as part of the Eau Gallie Arts District’s First Friday Art Walk.

Admission is free.

The Jazz Syndicate is led by Capt. Winston Scott, a shuttle astronaut and accomplished trumpeter who serves as Florida Tech’s senior vice president of external relations and economic development. Jazz Syndicate is Florida Tech’s premier ensemble for advanced improvisation.

In addition to the music, guests at the Foosaner are invited to view Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nickolas Muray, the museum’s current exhibit.

Hours:  Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m., and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays are free.

Admission: Adults $5; seniors, children and students with I.D. $2. Free for Museum members and Florida Tech staff, faculty and students.
