Florida Tech Research Park New Home for Kegman Inc.
Successful Technology Firm Signs 5-Year Lease
MELBOURNE, FLA. — Kegman Inc. is moving its corporate headquarters to the Florida Tech Research Park (FTRP) at Orlando Melbourne International Airport.
Relocating from north Melbourne, Kegman Inc. is moving its 16 employees into a 2,100-square-foot, high-end office and multi-use space at 1135 W. NASA Blvd., Suite 100, starting in April. The company signed a 5-year lease with options that was unanimously approved by the Melbourne Airport Authority.
Airport Executive Director Greg Donovan, AAE, expressed great regard for the company and noted that it was a sign of things to come at the research park.
“We have experienced an increase in interest from companies seeking to capitalize on the energy and synergy of the Florida Tech Research Park area,” he said. “This is yet another indicator of our airport’s growing stature in the tech industry.”
Certified as an Economically Disadvantaged Women and Veteran Owned Small Business, Kegman provides high-quality sensor system, information technology, and security system engineering, integration and installation to government and commercial customers.
“I want to thank the Melbourne Airport Authority and Florida Institute of Technology for encouraging Kegman to become part of the Florida Tech Research Park,” said Kegman President and CEO Susan Glasgow. “It has been a pleasure working with this team of dedicated professionals, and we are looking forward to new opportunities and accelerated growth in our new facility.”
Winston Scott, Florida Tech’s senior vice president for external relations and economic development, said the university has long played diverse and key roles in supporting Brevard County.
“The Florida Tech Research Park is a strategic asset that unites the power of our university with innovative companies, and we are delighted that Kegman sees the merits of this beneficial union,” he said. “We look forward to the continued growth and success of the company and our research park, together.”
Supporting applied research, prototype development and advanced manufacturing, FTRP offers collaboration and expansion opportunities to innovators in virtually every high-tech industry.
Established in 1999, Kegman offers services strategically focused on scientific, engineering and technical needs. Its clients include NASA, United Launch Alliance, the Mine Safety and Health Administration, Air Force Technical Applications Center and the Defense Intelligence Agency.
Kegman Inc. began its relationship with Florida Tech by contracting with Florida Tech Consulting on a variety of research projects, utilizing university expertise and partnering on proposals. Glasgow remains an active Florida Tech volunteer and IGNITE 360 mentor for weVENTURE (formally the Women’s Business Center). She has participated in many seminars and events over the years.
Ron Prudhomme, Kegman’s chief operating officer, is an IGNITE 360 ambassador and serves on the Industry Advisory Board for Florida Tech’s College of Engineering.
Kegman, Inc. employees are very active in the community, as well, supporting Habitat for Humanity, Space Coast Women in Defense and many local STEM education initiatives.
The company will hold a public open house at its new location from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 28.
