Forbes: Florida Institute of Technology Among Nation’s ‘Best Value’ Universities

Magazine Looked at Cost, Quality, Grad Success for New List

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology is one of the nation’s Best Value Colleges, according to a new list developed by Forbes magazine.

Featuring just 300 U.S. colleges and universities, the list from the influential publication was designed to provide students with a snapshot of schools that offer the most value for the dollar.

“This is our newly reimagined Best Value Colleges ranking, an analysis of the brainiest research universities and leading liberal arts schools, both public and private that are well worth the investment,” the magazine said in an article accompanying the March 29 release of the list.

Florida Tech was also included among the 49 colleges and universities ranked as Best Value in the South and 200 Best Value private colleges and universities.

Working with the Center for College Affordability and Productivity, the magazine developed its rankings based on tuition costs, school quality, graduation success rates and post-grad earnings.

“We’ve tapped into something very interesting,” the magazine said. “The top Best Value Colleges are not bundled in the Northeast and founded prior to 1800. Rather they are mostly West Coast, public, and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)-oriented.”
