**MEDIA ADVISORY** Florida Tech Spring Commencement Set for May 5

WHAT: Florida Institute of Technology is holding 2018 Spring Commencement ceremonies for undergraduate and graduate students from the Melbourne campus, online programs and off-site locations.

WHEN: 9:30 a.m. undergraduate ceremony; 2 p.m. graduate ceremony, Saturday, May 5

WHERE: Charles and Ruth Clemente Center on the Florida Tech campus, 150 W. University Blvd., Melbourne

WHO: Florida Institute of Technology President Dwayne McCay will welcome Florida Tech Board of Trustees member and esteemed alumnus Vik Verma as the keynote speaker at both the undergraduate and graduate ceremonies. A technology pioneer, Verma is chief executive officer of Silicon Valley-based 8×8, Inc., one of the most successful unified communications companies in the world.

MORE: Students from 38 states and a record 70 countries will receive diplomas during the ceremonies. The undergraduate ceremony will feature 542 students participating. A total of 443 students will receive master’s and doctoral degrees as they participate in the afternoon session. The university will bestow a total of 1,297 degrees.
