Harris Donates Electronics Equipment to Florida Tech

– Harris Corporation’s Government Communications Systems Division (GCSD) in Palm Bay recently donated electronics equipment to Florida Tech, valued at
almost $120,000. The equipment will be used in undergraduate and graduate learning laboratories for electrical and computer engineering, and for research.

The equipment donation is GCSD’s second such gift to the College of Engineering during this academic year. The latest
gift includes signal generators, spectrum and logic analyzers, and frequency and event counters.

Hank Eyster, division vice president of engineering, credits GCSD employees Lena Simpson and Chris Rhoden, and Test Equipment Center manager Dick Bowen
with identifying, collecting and transporting the equipment..

“We at Harris value our partnership with Florida Tech,” Eyster said. “It is our pleasure to contribute modern test equipment that will provide Florida Tech
students with the necessary tools for their education.”

Florida Tech offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering.
