Aeronautics Professor Chosen for Accreditation Team in Dubai

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Korhan Oyman, Florida Tech assistant professor of aviation management, was chosen to participate in a visiting committee of experts to
review the eligibility for accreditation of an academic program in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The visit was conducted over four days in July 2007.

He was part of a team evaluating a bachelor of science degree program in flight and aviation management being offered by Dubai Aerospace Enterprise
University in that city. Other team members were from Clemson University in South Carolina and Savannah State University in Georgia. The committee was
invited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, United Arab Emirates.

“Dr. Oyman received high marks from the university’s administration and from the chairman of the higher Education Academic Accreditation Commission for his
expertise and professionalism. He was invited back for another accreditation next year,” said Dean of the Florida Tech College of Aeronautics Kenneth P.
Stackpoole.

Oyman earned a doctoral degree in civil aviation management from Anadolu University-Institute of Social Sciences and Graduate Studies in Turkey, a master’s
degree in aviation safety from the University of Central Missouri, and a bachelor’s degree in public finance from the Istanbul University Faculty of
Economics in Turkey.

From 1999 to 2001 he was managing director of Sabiha Gokcen International Airport in Istanbul. Prior to that he was a university professor and consultant
for medium-term strategic planning in aviation to the State Planning Office of Turkey. He has published widely on aviation and airport management.
