Florida Tech’s First Water Polo Tournament Set for March 16-17

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology will host the Space Coast Classic, the university’s first men’s water polo tournament, Saturday and Sunday, March 16-17. The tournament will be held at the Panther Aquatic Center on campus, starting at 9 a.m. each day. Spectators from the general public are welcome.

Participating collegiate teams include those from Georgia Tech, University of Central Florida and Florida Atlantic University; master-level teams are coming from Orlando and Tampa, Fla., and Puerto Rico. The event will include a fastest shot competition on Saturday evening starting around 6 p.m. The full schedule can be viewed on the team’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/FIT-Water-Polo/160173320761284?fref=ts.

The team is open to men and women students, faculty and staff who want to join. They are encouraged to come to practice on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Panther Aquatic Center.
