Florida Tech’s Leaders Engaging Globally Presents Craig Runde Nov. 22

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology’s Institute for Cross Cultural Management will host Craig Runde in the Leaders Engaging Globally Speaker Series Nov. 22 at 12:30 pm. The talk, open to the public, will be presented in the Florida Tech Commons, room 244.

As director of the Center for Conflict Dynamics at Eckerd College, Runde oversees training and development on the Conflict Dynamics Profile Assessment instrument and Becoming Conflict Competent course. He is also co-author of several books on workplace conflict management includingBecoming a Conflict Competent Leader,Building Conflict Competent Teams, andDeveloping Your Conflict Competence.

In his Florida Tech talk, “Managing Conflict in Global Organizations,” Rundewill provide insights on these topics: How conflict impacts the effectiveness of all organizations and how cultural differences can lead to conflict and complicate efforts to resolve it; understanding individual attitudes and responses to conflict to address it more effectively; and the cognitive, emotional, behavioral and normative development that organizational conflict competence require.

Runde earned a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, a master of legal librarianship degree from the University of Denver, and a law degree from Duke University. He has practiced law in Colorado and has taught at the University of Minnesota Law School and Wake Forest University.
