Florida Tech Earns Top 40 Ranking in ‘U.S. News and World Report’ Best Colleges for Veterans

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Out of 234 ranked schools, Florida Institute of Technology was listed at the No. 39 spot in the inaugural U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges for Veterans rankings. The rankings provide military veterans with a list of top schools that offer benefits in order for them to pursue a college education.

To qualify for the rankings, only schools in the 2014 U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges list are considered that also meet the following criteria: are certified for the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill, participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program and members of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Consortium. Veteran benefits data was collected in spring 2013.

Earlier this year, Florida Tech was also named by Victory Media for G.I. Jobs as a Military Friendly School in recognition of its efforts to recruit, support and retain American veterans and current active or reserve service members as students. Florida Tech is among the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that made the 2014 list.
