5K Run/Walk Supports Autism Treatment; Starts, Ends at Florida Tech Feb. 22

MELBOURNE, FLA.—The Fifth Annual 5K Run/Walk for Autism Awareness, on Feb. 22, will begin and end at the Florida Institute of Technology Scott Center for Autism Treatment starting at 8 a.m. A Kid’s Fun Run is set to begin at 9:15 a.m. Events will proceed rain or shine.

Proceeds will help fund the four-week summer camp held by Brevard PALS (Providing Autism Links and Support) in partnership with The Scott Center.

T-shirts and refreshments will be available. Awards will be given. Fees are $25 if postmarked by Feb. 15; $30 for registration on race day. The Kid’s Fun Run is free. Packets may be picked up at the Running Zone on Friday, Feb. 21 or The Scott Center on race day, 6:45-7:45 a.m.

The Running Zone is located at 3680 N. Wickham Av. in Melbourne. Parking for the 5K Run/Walk is available near The Scott Center in the multilevel parking deck on Panther Place.
