The Real Estate Bubble: A View from the Inside

Florida Tech’s Scott Benjamin Offers Up-Close Look at Turbulent Economic Time

MELBOURNE, FLA. — The real estate market from 2001 to 2010 took the United States on a turbulent, sometimes frightening ride that reshaped economies both personal and national.

Scott Benjamin, an assistant professor at Florida Institute of Technology’s Nathan Bisk College of Business and director of the university’s Center for Entrepreneurship and New Business Development, spent that period working in real estate.

He documents his journey in a new book, Riding the Bubble: The World of Housing is a Wild Ride.

Written in a journal format, the book details Benjamin’s experiences and what he learned over that time, when he made and lost millions of dollars.

“Whether you are interested in real estate investing or just curious about how investors dealt with the real estate crash of 2008, Riding the Bubble will be an illuminating, informational and useful book,” Benjamin said.

Benjamin, who holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship degree, an MBA and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Strategic Management, has founded seven startup ventures over his entrepreneurial career in fields ranging from restaurants to medical products to education.

The book is available at amazon.com or www.ridingthebubble.com.
