Foosaner Art Museum, Ruth Funk Center Seek Volunteers
MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology’s university museums are seeking volunteers to assist with daily operations. Positions are available at the reception desks at Foosaner Art Museum and Renee Foosaner Education Center, both located in the Eau Gallie Arts District of Melbourne, and the Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts on the Florida Tech campus.
Help is also needed in the museum shops and at special events involving children and families using the Education Center, including the ArtWorks Festival and First Fridays.
Recently retired or relocated people and returning residents of any age, as well as students older than 16 who are interested in community service hours, are encouraged to apply. Though unpaid, the volunteer positions do bring with them invitations to receptions, discounts at the gift shops and other membership benefits.
The annual New Volunteer Reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, in the Foosaner art galleries. This is an opportunity to learn more about volunteer opportunities. Please RSVP for the reception by Oct. 21 to Tina Murray at 321-674-8919 or tmurray@fit.edu.
