Registration Underway for Spring Art Classes, Workshops at Renee Foosaner Education Center

Among Classes Starting March 20

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Registration is now underway for spring art classes and workshops at Florida Institute of Technology’s Renee Foosaner Education Center in the Eau Gallie Arts District of Melbourne.

The new term, which will feature one-, two- and three-day workshops and once-a-week classes lasting 5 to 10 weeks, starts the week of March 20 and runs through May 13. A variety of classes are available for adults and children, including mixed media for kids, beginning, intermediate and advanced pottery for adults, figure sculpture, intermediate watercolor, continuing photography (digital) with Jennifer Glass, and painting.

Classes are offered in the mornings, afternoons and evenings.

Workshops include Red: The Color of Desire: Natural Dyeing Workshop March 15 and a one-day pottery printmaking workshop with faculty member Elaine Rowgo called Dragonfly Pottery: Printmaking on Greenware also on March 28. The Glass Home: Make your Own Wind Chime on April 8 with glass instructor Fahan Sky McDonagh is a fused-glass workshop for children and parents.

Pre-registration is required for all classes and workshops. An early registration discount of 10 percent will be available until March 1. Details, schedules and prices can be found under the “classes” header at www.foosanerartmuseum.org.

Online registration is encouraged but registration is also available at the Education Center, 1520 Highland Ave. Office hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. Informational brochures are also available at the Education Center and at Foosaner Art Museum in the Eau Gallie Arts District, as well as at the Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts on the Florida Tech campus in Melbourne.
