BIMDA Awards Florida Tech $15,000 Grant for STEM Education

    Celebrate 15 Years of Expo     

MELBOURNE, FLA. — BIMDA, the Space Coast’s not-for-profit medical and dental association, has pledged $15,000 to Florida Institute of Technology in support of STEM education.

The grant is one of six the association is awarding to select Brevard County and Central Florida organizations in support of STEM, medicine and nursing and in celebration of 15 successful years of hosting its signature Medical Expo.

The donations were formally announced May 6 at the BIMDA Gala at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto. Florida Tech President T. Dwayne McCay and First Lady Mary Helen McCay attended.

The grants were announced on behalf of BIMDA Chairman and President Dr. Aparna Kopuri and the entire BIMDA leadership and membership. The other recipients were: EFSC Foundation at Eastern Florida State College; UCF Foundation/UCF College of Medicine; Health First Foundation; Jess Parish Medical Foundation; and Brevard Schools Foundation.
