Florida Tech Historian Robert Taylor Leads Civil War Tour Sept. 21-24

Visits to Manassas, Harper’s Ferry, Antietam, Gettysburg on Itinerary      

MELBOURNE, FLA. — The public is invited to experience American history up close and in person as Florida Institute of Technology’s Lifelong Learning Society and distinguished historian Robert Taylor are hosting a tour of Civil War battlefields.

Departing from Orlando International Airport on Sept. 21 and returning Sept. 24, the tour will encompass visits to Manassas, Virginia; Harpers Ferry, West Virginia; Antietam, Maryland; and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It will be led by Taylor, a professor of history, graduate of the U.S. Army Military History Instructor Course and writer and editor involved with five books on the Civil War.

The tour includes airfare and transportation, breakfasts and dinners, lodging at the Marriott and Quality Inn on the Gettysburg battlefield, and admission to the National Park Service Museum and Visitors Center at Gettysburg National Military Park, which offers exhibitions, screenings of the film, “A New Birth of Freedom,” and the restored Gettysburg Cyclorama.

The cost of $1,495 per person.
